Having positive habits in your life and daily routine won’t change your life over night, but when practiced consistently they begin to do remarkable things for your life. They provide a platform for success, the best possible chance of success through a variable which you can control, yourself. You can’t change or control your environment, but you can control yourself and the way you respond to every situation. This is a major key to success, taking control of your life and providing the best possible chance of success. Here are some key habits highly successful people implement in their daily lives. You can implement these habits today, and give yourself the best chance at success.
1. They wake up early
High achievers are known to wake up early, this allows them to take more control over their day. This is one of the biggest habits of highly successful people. They are able to work out, meditate, read, and have a healthy breakfast before most alarms go off around the country. Waking up early has a profound effect on one’s life, in that you are able to take more control over your day. Establishing this positive habit may take some time to do, especially if you are not a morning person, but it will have some majorly positive implications on your life. You are able to establish a good morning routine, prepare adequately for the day, get a ton of health and wellness goals done, and most importantly direct your day in the right direction.
So tomorrow morning set your alarm clock, wake up before the sun rises and start crushing your life. It may take some getting used to. You may need to force yourself to go to sleep a little earlier every night, you probably will feel more tired than usual during your first week. But once you have the habit established, it will have an amazing effect on your life.
If you are prone to snooze, then put your phone somewhere in your room where you need to get up to switch the alarm off in the morning. You will already be out of bed, you might as well just get the day started, and start crushing life.
2. They are health conscious
Highly successful people are generally always health conscious. They understand that they need a healthy body and mind to perform at their best. Let’s face it, you’re going to get nowhere in life living on the couch snacking all day. High performers know they need to keep their bodies fit, and their minds sharp. They need healthy energy, and a healthy energy delivery system.
Exercise
You will generally always find successful people fitting in some exercise somewhere in their busy schedule. Either an early morning gym session, or evening session after work, successful people love to push themselves mentally and physically. Working out ensures a healthy body, it keeps muscles working, it gets your heart rate up, it helps your lungs, it boosts endorphins, which boosts emotional state and confidence. It boosts energy levels, it improves sleep quality. Exercising will make you feel happier.
Diet
Highly successful people generally value the importance of a healthy diet, as a healthy diet ensures their body and brain is receiving the right nutrition, vitamins and minerals to ensure they are healthy both physically and cognitively. A healthy body does really equal a healthy mind, first your brain receives the right nutrients to operate optimally, and secondly you feel healthy, which boosts your mind-set and confidence.
Eating healthy doesn’t mean you have to completely cut out sugar, go vegan, and live a strict health conscious lifestyle. You can still have the occasional restaurant lunch meeting, or grab a quick take-away whilst you’re at lunch, but when you can try go for a healthier low carb option, ensure you eat fruits and vegetables. Don’t compromise on a healthy breakfast, a healthy breakfast will set up your body with the right nutrients for maximum cognitive capacity, early in the morning when it matters most. Try and have a healthier dinner, with some healthier snacks in between. This way you are eating a healthier diet, whilst still able to enjoy some freedom.
Hydration
Top level CEO’s also ensure to keep themselves hydrated. It is shocking to find out how many people these days just simply do not drink water. Sure your body may get some water from that morning coffee, but there is nothing better than keeping hydrated. Water assists the brain by delivering oxygen to the brain. When you are looking for better performance from your mind and body, keeping hydrated is essential. It allows our bodies which are made up from roughly 70 percent water to operate optimally.
So change up your diet to healthy meals, hydrate yourself daily and start hitting the gym or working out at home. Your mind and body will thank you later!
3. They find time to meditate
Although meditation isn’t a new trend, it has become a global phenomenon over the past few decades and with good reason. Meditation has incredible scientifically proven benefits, ranging from stress reduction, to improved concentration, to increased health and well-being. Another incredible benefit of meditation is it allows us to process our thoughts, in order for our brains to completely shut off. It is scientifically proven meditation increases your prefrontal cortex. It is no wonder highly successful people keep a few minutes aside during their day for a meditation session.
So set aside a few minutes each day for some much needed quiet time, practice meditation consistently and you will begin to notice the difference. Reading not only provides new knowledge, but the brain is a muscle which needs to be exercised. We live in a world where the vast majority of people don’t read anymore, or simply cannot finish a book, and it shows in the level of success which top CEO’s and executives reach, simply by reading. Whether it be digital books or physical books, you need to read if you want to increase your knowledge, gain new perspectives and change your life.
So order some books online, or read some online pdf books, or visit your local library and start flexing that brain muscle of yours!
5. They have a routine
Highly successful people are known to have somewhat strict routines, which helps them in many areas of their life. Having a strict routine allows for efficient day planning and performance crushing time management. Routines provide a great foundation for times which need to be focused on certain things, such as work, gym, meditating. This allows for a clear picture of the day, and more importantly more control over the day. Having a routine in place also assists with discipline and consistency, and if there is any way to get ahead in life is to be consistent and disciplined.

Confidence comes from a belief in yourself, and continual practice of your craft, talent or ability to execute successfully. 8. They have a positive mind-set
Highly successful people usually always have a positive mind-set. Having a positive mind-set doesn’t mean one can’t experience emotions, it’s extremely healthy to experience and feel emotions. Going through life with a negative attitude literally shuts a person down, it closes them off from opportunities, and it prevents them from taking risks because they are too worried about what the outcome may be.
So if you are caught in self-defeating limiting beliefs, or find yourself with a negative mind-set, try switching things up and change your mind-set to shift towards a positive mind-set. It may take some time, and a lot of work, but with consistent practice and deliberate thinking you can eventually achieve a positive mind-set. We all need direction in our lives, otherwise we wonder through life aimlessly. High achievers are extremely disciplined not only in their area of expertise, but in life. They are calculated and methodical, focused and driven. This provides them with the best possibility of success. It’s easy to get caught up in life, days, weeks, months go by so fast. Without being disciplined it’s extremely difficult to accomplish big things. Think about Olympic athletes or Formula one race car drivers, or pro golfers, or doctors, or lawyers, all these professions took thousands of hours of work, and incredible discipline to ensure those athletes were in the gym every day, they practiced their craft.
To achieve great things in life you must be disciplined. That doesn’t mean you can’t let lose, relax or have fun, but there is a time and a place. If you want to get big things done, become disciplined, it’s one of the best things you can do for yourself.
